Growing up around doctors, Bryn brings a unique perspective and passion to her disability insurance practice. She uses her knowledge and passion for law and medicine to help those who are underdogs going up against disability insurance companies by themselves.
Why Disability Law?
Bryn has dedicated her legal career to helping people. Out of law school, she worked as an Assistant State Attorney assisting single parents in obtaining and enforcing child support payments. It was during her time as an Assistant State Attorney that she learned and appreciated how much could be done using the law to help those in need.
She then joined the team of disability attorneys at Dabdoub Law Firm, a firm that specializes in disability insurance and ERISA. Bryn’s law practice is now exclusively focused on representing people with disability insurance claims. She has obtained outstanding results for clients who deserve disability benefits.
Bryn’s Practice
Every day, Bryn helps clients with initial applications for disability insurance benefits. She represents physicians, dentists, lawyers, and other professionals who are insured under what is known as “own occupation” disability insurance policies. She frequently handles appeals of disability denials and has experience litigating disability benefits lawsuits in state and federal courts.
Bryn also has extensive experience representing employees who can no longer work and have disability insurance provided by their employers. The group insurance policies are usually governed by a federal law called The Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 or ERISA. Because of her expertise in ERISA, Bryn knows how to navigate this unique area of the law. She knows how to respond to tactics insurance companies use to delay or deny valid claims for disability insurance benefits.
Bryn treats each claim individually and each client with care. To her, no two clients or cases are alike. One case she handled early on in her practice involved a former CEO who suffered a stroke with lasting cognitive impairments. His insurer tried to claim it was a mental health issue. She studied the medical history, the policy language and the circumstances surrounding his disability. She worked closely with the client on the details of his medical condition and how it impacted his work. Her goal was to ensure his story was told, which ultimately led to a successful outcome.
Growing up in South Florida and staying close to home, Bryn received her Bachelor of Science in Communication and Spanish from the University of Miami and her law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law.
