About the Super Lawyers Selection Process
To be selected for inclusion in the Super Lawyers list, attorneys must go through a four-step process that includes peer nominations, independent research, peer evaluations, and final selections. During the first step, lawyers cannot submit their own names for inclusion, nor can they request their peers to nominate them.
After Super Lawyers receives nominations, it conducts independent research of the nominees and evaluates them based on 12 factors of performance, including verdicts and settlements, length of legal experience, honors and awards, and other accomplishments. The highest-scoring attorneys from the first and second steps then evaluate their peers on a 5-point scale.
Attorneys with the highest scores from the first 3 steps are selected for inclusion in the list of Super Lawyers.
